DESCRIPTION
Balancing acupuncture channels to mitigate channel excesses and deficiencies is the most effective way to improve and restore health. When used as a root treatment, followed by branch treatments
for the patient’s main complaints, acupuncture efficacy is doubled.
Patients report experiences of deep relaxation and shifts on physical, emotional and even spiritual levels. This is certainly the best approach for chronic internal disorders.
There are many approaches to balancing acupuncture channels. Dr. Jake Fratkin has explored various approaches for the length of his 40-year career in acupuncture, and has constantly sought to improve his treatments by integrating simplicity with efficacy. Initially, he used traditional Nan Jing pulses combined with muscle-testing diagnosis for point selection. In 2011, Jake started using computerized diagnosis. Since then, he has used meridian diagnosis in every one of his patients for every treatment.
WHAT WE WILL LEARN
- Jake Fratkin’s very effective acupuncture protocol, the Three-Level Acupuncture Balance, addressing the primary, extraordinary and divergence channel networks
- Applying various computer menus to maximize efficient point selection
- An overview of meridian therapy with special attention to Keiraku Chiryo system, Manaka’s Eight Extraordinary Channel System, Miki Shima’s Somato-Auricular Therapy and Dr. Tan’s 6 Method Treatment Protocol
- Japanese painless needling technique using thin needles with shallow insertion
- Applying ion-pumping cords to move places of excess to places of deficiency
- Application of Japanese teishin metal tools
- Applications with micro-current and low-level laser instead of, or in addition to, needles
- Adjunctive treatment for specific complaints using auriculotherapy
- Adjunctive treatment for musculoskeletal-structural holding points
- Special treatments for spinal imbalances, rotated hips, rotated uterus, open ileocecal valve, hiatal hernia, and scars
- Qi Gong training to enhance needle therapy and for self meridian balancing
- A simple muscle-testing technique to confirm point selection and treatment efficacy (not necessary to do the protocol!)
This in-depth approach sums up Jake Fratkin’s 40 years of clinical practice in acupuncture; it allows for a practical and effective treatment to be given in a 45-minute session. The 3 Level Acupuncture Protocol is a profoundly deep balance, very gentle, that will bring patients coming in for both acute complaints, and as a monthly maintenance to prevent illness, reduce stress, and promote vitality.
Requirements: Practitioners must be licensed to practice acupuncture in their state.
The workshop will be held at the Boulder Marriott, about 1 mile from the heart of downtown Boulder. Rooms are available at the Boulder Marriott, as well as numerous hotel opportunities in Boulder, Broomfield, Louisville, etc. (Boulder is 45 minutes from downtown Denver.)
We are holding the workshop on Friday and Saturday, allowing for convenient travel into Denver International Airport (DIA), as well as the possibility of an extended ski holiday in the nearby mountains. Space is limited to 28 practitioners. Register early for the workshop discount.

FROM THE PEOPLE AT ACUGRAPH
“Renowned acupuncturist and author Jake Fratkin, OMD, L.Ac., has used AcuGraph on every one of his patients since 2011. During that time he’s developed certain special protocols that take AcuGraph insights to a whole new level, and get amazing results for his patients. His unique training in both Japanese and Chinese approaches has helped him integrate AcuGraph in truly remarkable ways that he’s never taught publicly.”
Dr. Adrian Larsen, Developer of the AcuGraph
“Your work with AcuGraph is really fascinating. I appreciate your ability to expand ancient medicine with modern technologies for amazing outcomes. Acupuncture, laser, micro-current, moxa stick, laser massage, and Chinese herbs. It’s a BEAUTIFUL combination!”
Kimberly Thompson, L.Ac.
Acupuncture Research Analyst, Miridia Tecnology, manufacturer of the AcuGraph
QUOTES FROM PREVIOUS STUDENTS
“Jake is a master practitioner and a wonderful teacher. He has a great gift for integrating many valuable clinical approaches into a coherent approach.”
Darren Starwynn; inventor of the ACUTRON, electro-stim therapy machine
“As always, Fratkin brings his core experience with the material covered. I’ve taken at least 4 courses with Jake over a period of 7 or 8 years and it is obvious how he continues to evolve. He introduces not only the core material but brings aspects of other viable systems to your attention. You go home with something for now and much to work with. I recommend all of his courses.”
Parago Jones, L.Ac.
Director of Clinical Studies, Colorado School of TCM, Denver, CO
“Jake gives a simple overview of Japanese root treatment with lots of branch options, both Japanese and Chinese. He puts it together in a practical protocol using muscle testing to confirm diagnosis and point selection.”
Kelly Kaeding, Burlington, Vermont
“Just a word to tell you that Jake Fratkin’s seminar went beautifully. All the students were deeply touched by this teaching, which brings acupuncture to another level. It is a different approach from Chinese acupuncture without betraying the tradition while remaining respectful of the knowledge of the ancients. This training is going to allow me to evolve towards a more sensitive acupuncture, in better relationship with meridian dynamics and with a better understanding of the patient’s body! I deeply appreciate Jake’s knowledge, generosity and enthusiasm.”
Philippe Sionneau, French TCM herbalist and author
Organizer of a meridian training course in Paris, France
“Magnificent, superb, extraordinary. What a weekend it was! A must-do with a teacher showing deep kindness, deep simplicity, and a well of knowledge.”
A.M.B., Alpes-Maritime, France
“Jake is a very organized and clear presenter. He has a great understanding of Chinese Medicine and is able to share the breadth of his knowledge with his students in very practical ways. They can immediately use this new information in their treatments.”
