My name is Jake Paul Fratkin and I am a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. I have been in practice for 33 years, and specialize in Japanese meridian balance acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. I also follow evidence-based Functional Medicine, with its emphasis on physiology, biochemistry, laboratory testing and the use of nutritional medicine. In all respects, I am a practitioner of natural and alternative medicine.
I specialize in internal disorders, infections and pediatrics. Because natural medicine promotes healing rather than control or suppression of symptoms, my success rate in general is 85% or higher.
The internal disorders that I treat include respiratory and gastrointestinal ailments, skin problems, allergies, fatigue and low immune function. I also treat cancer patients for the side effects of medical therapy, and to enhance immune function and vitality.
I treat gynecological complaints including menstrual, menopausal and post-partum disorders, and problems of pregnancy such as morning sickness and fatigue. My success rate for infertility due to hormone imbalance is 85%, without concurrent IVF.
For pediatrics, which comprises 35% of my practice, I treat common cold, cough, ear infections, diarrhea, constipation, allergies, eczema and asthma. In some cases, we can help learning disorders such as ADHD. I treat problems due to vaccination reaction by making homeopathic auto-nosodes of the patient’s blood with supportive therapy.
Infectious disorders that I treat include common cold and cough, influenza (flu), shingles, hepatitis, West Nile Virus, and infections of the skin, gums, ear, throat, lungs, heart and urinary tract, as well as wounds and burns.
I cannot offer any real benefit for neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, stroke, senility, paralysis, or muscle-wasting diseases. I also cannot treat rare genetic disorders such as cystic fibrosis, Tay-Sachs, ichthyosis, Netherton’s syndrome, etc. For patients with these conditions, however, my treatments may help in improved organ function and symptom relief.
